Taiwan Street Food 2

Zongzi (粽子), or sticky rice dumplings, are a traditional Chinese food made from glutinous rice and various stuffings, such as meat, mushrooms, dried vegetables, etc. They are then wrapped in bamboo leaves, tied up with strings and boiled or steamed.

They are traditionally eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu Festival, which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. In 2016 this will be June 9.
